I am Viv, the founder and designer of NudeRoots Leathers. After many years working in the event industry, I began seeking a slower pace and more meaningful work in 2019. My passion for craftsmanship and sustainability, along with a resource-conserving lifestyle, inspired the creation of Nude Roots.

It started with questioning all processes, including my own consumption habits. As I looked at all the things that surround us daily, I quickly realized that we live in a society where everything is taken for granted and we accept things as they are. When I changed my lifestyle, I often had to forgo things simply because there were no alternatives, such as a label for organic leather. I began learning leather craft and delved into researching the processes of the leather industry. Where do the hides come from? Which tanning methods are problematic? What are the working conditions in large tanneries? It quickly became clear that to create an ethically correct product, I had to establish my own value chain.

For me, sustainability means not only sacrifice but also conscious use of existing resources and closing loops. My products stand for awareness, practicality, durability, slow fashion, and the reduction of excess. Today, I consider myself a conscious consumer and strive to make a small contribution to sustainability with my products.
